Do Yourself a Favor and Open Happiness

Where ever you go, coke is there. Everyone recognizes the Coca Cola logo.  Born and raised in the same city where the Coca Cola Company calls home, you could say I'm a little biased over all the other soda/pop/drink companies. And to be truthful, I am. There is nothing like cracking open a classic bottle of Coca Cola. People resonate with the sound it makes when you pop open a can, "Opening Happiness".  The Open Happiness campaign gained a lot of attention when it made it's first debut. Many of us probably recall the cute little videos of the animated Coca Cola factory workers designing the classic drink that would play before our movies at the theater. However Open Happiness is much more than a short animated clip. Coca Cola's website has an entire sub page devoted to "Open Happiness". It is an interactive web page that allows searchers to explore what happiness is, means and inspirational quotes. One of my personal favorites that was said by Rose Wilder Lane, "Happiness is something that comes into our lives through doors we don't even remember leaving open." Coke is making efforts to not only be a soft drink company, but a company that people can really trust.

Coca Cola is doing a wonderful job not only promoting it's brand and line of soft drinks, energy drinks and water, but making a global outreach. These initiatives can be seen through there "Open Happiness" campaign, as well as their involvement with the FIFA World Cup. Coca Cola makes one of it's main goals to be more than just a soft drink company. As someone who has sat through multiple Coca Cola shareholder's meetings I see the outreach initiatives and programs the company is trying to implement.

Everyone knows the Coca Cola brand. Every one recognizes their logo, the classic skinny neck glass bottle. But not everyone knows about their global initiatives. This says a lot about who they are as a company. However Coca Cola could improve on their digital brand. For many companies that have been around the block a few times the new digital age can be somewhat frightening, but Coke has risen to the occasion and showed others up. Coca Cola is has made efforts such as the "CokeReward" caps, which draws buyers to collect caps to then go online and redeem for points to purchase gifts. Offering contests to visit the FIFA World Cup and many more. Coke is active on Twitter and Facebook, which makes it easy to connect with it's consumers.

Coca Cola does an excellent job continuing the expand it's brand by creating new can designs. Whether the new designs are a special event or season, it holds people's interest.

It is impressive how a company who has been around for so long continues to be a powerful force in the business/drink market.

Do yourself a favor and Open Happiness,

Caroline
